    But if you are interested in Tai Chi now, do not wait! Come out to any class
    and you will be made welcome!

    TAI CHI or QIGONG?
    We have a very large and complete Qigong curriculum!
    Generally, it is integrated with our various Tai Chi offerings.
    This is because Tai Chi is traditionally considered to be a form of Qigong.
    Most Tai Chi classes are preceded by a 1/2 hour of Qigong,
    directly related to the style of Tai Chi being studied in the following class.

    We also have a special stand-alone hour-long Qigong session most Sunday afternoons. See the schedule for contact information.

    WHAT STYLE OF TAI CHI?
    This depends upon your background, temperament and motivations.
    While Yang style is generally recommended for complete Beginners,
    someone with a combative background might enjoy Long Fist
    and some of the styles we practice Thursday evenings.
    But Yang style is the most popular for those with a general
    interest in health and stress reduction.
    Our curriculum is not based on a structure
    of prerequisites, so follow your heart!

    At Cold Mountain we offer a variety of
    internal arts, exercises, and meditations providing training for health, spiritual empowerment, artistic expression, and practical self defense skills.

    We encourage each practitioner
    to explore internal arts according to
    their own vision and interests.
    You will be empowered to realize
    internal or psychic changes
    through external or physical
    adjustments and  movement.

    The wide variety of styles and skills
    we practice include:
    • A systematic approach to traditional Yang style Tai Chi, complete with Levels I and II certificate programs suitable for beginners and health care workers;
    • Cold Mountain Long Fist;
    • Traditional Chen Family Tai Chi (New Frame 1st. routine and Old Frame 2nd. routine) both in traditional Beijing style;
    • Traditional Old Yang Family Middle Frame (Shen family transmission);
    • Tai Chi weaponssabre, sword, fan;
    • Various QiGongs, and Animal QiGong forms;
    • Specialized forms including Crane and Dragon Tai Chi;
    • Sensing-hands and partners practices.
